WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Covid Ribbon Memorial with Mayor Rick Krishna

We’re a visual society.

You hear the numbers and it doesn’t register.

That (he points to the ribbons) registers. Each one of those (pointing again) should resister because that’s a person, because that’s a life, because that’s someone who was here who isn’t here today.

When I see those numbers of those who have died here today, including those in Pinellas, and St. Petersburg, it hurts my heart.

— Mayor Rick Krisman

“When I wrote her name on a ribbon, somehow some of the grief released-replaced by a recognition and a sense of deep love and joy. Finally, we could publicly recognize that those we love and lost matter.”

— Kathy Flora

“I have 5 family members and 4 very close friends that I lost to Covid-19. Thank you for doing this.”

“The Covid Ribbon Memorial is an awesome and meaningful experience tos see. It helps to visually understand the enormity of Covid deaths here in Florida. I highly recommend taking a drive to see it, feel it, and take in the emotional casualty of the pandemic.”
